From Puebla, Mexico to your plate

A mother and son team sharing our culture through our food. We immigrated from Puebla, Puebla, Mexico in 1995 and since then all we have gotten is compliments about our food. So after many years and many ideas brewing, In 2017 we decided to share our tamales around the Boston area. That led to sharing our grandmothers mole paste - that led to Mr Tamole. All of our recipes come from our mothers/ grandmothers. This is why we are so excited and happy to share our new Abuela's Mole paste. A mole poblano recipe that has been passed down through our mothers. Starting at over 40 ingredients, then brought down to 26, then brought down to 22 ingredients. Now we substituted the almonds, peanuts, lard, sesame seeds and chocolate still keeping the authentic mole poblano taste. So now everyone can taste the famous culinary master piece from Puebla Mexico. Our mole paste no longer has allergens in the recipe, it even has a soy free chocolate - to keep the authentic mole poblano taste. We now have 3 salsas, our mole paste, and our tamales available for wholesale!!!

Mr. Tamole Products

Abeula’s Mole Paste

Mole Poblano is often referred to as the “National dish of Mexico”. Created in the 1800s, it is a fusion of native Mexican and European cuisines. In 2019, during our journey to bring mole to Harvard dining Services, we refined the recipe to be allergen friendly. Now you can have this culinary masterpiece at home to share with your loved ones.

Jalapeño Salsa

This salsa has the perfect jalapeño taste , somewhat sweet and spicy salsa - not too spicy though. Not habanero spicy, so you can put this on pretty much everything.

Red Tomato Salsa

Our red Salsa has a smoky chile flavor, that will leave you craving more.

Ever since our family came from Mexico in 1995 to Massachusetts, we have had the pleasure of sharing our food with friends and the community. Our salsa and food gained popularity and our neighbors started to come by for jars of salsa and food to take home. Sharing our food was a great way to bring people together. Now we invite you to share our food with your friends and community.

Mr. Tamole team brings authentic tamales to town New product launch, salsa's & Abuela's mole paste

For years, Andres Medina Carreto, now 30, told his mother, Margarita Carreto, it’s not easy to come by authentic tamales in the Boston area, or for that matter, mole sauce like hers. Finally persuaded, Margarita came on board to help her son with his plan. They acquired a mobile stand with a stove and running water, and started Mr. Tamole, a moniker that marries tamales and mole. The mother-son team brings it to farmers’ markets to sell tamales, steamed in cornhusks lined with the moistest of masa and heavy with fillings — chicken with mole; pork carnitas, cheddar jack cheese and salsa; poblanos and cheddar jack, and more; then mole or salsa on the side ($7.50 to $11).
