Nick Schonberger comes to Commonwealth Kitchen with a decade of experience in service to small business owners throughout Greater Boston.
Nick served as Small Business Specialist for Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation supporting brick and mortar businesses and entrepreneurs in Boston to access financial and technical resources. Prior to that, Nick worked for the City of Somerville; first supporting immigrant culinary entrepreneurs to start food businesses, and then as a Planner in the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development supporting business development initiatives including the management and distribution of grant funding to businesses impacted by city and state mandated closures as a result of Covid-19. Nick has a passion for food; having worked in kitchens as a baker, line cook, and fishmonger prior to his time in public service.
On weekends, Nick can be found exploring swimming holes, farmers markets, or on a foray with the Boston Mycological Society, seeking the most delicious and dangerous fungi around.
