Ready to Launch Program for CommonWealth Kitchen Members 

Starting a food business can be daunting task especially if you are new to the industry. Ready to Launch is a 15-week intensive program designed to guide new food businesses at CommonWealth Kitchen through the steps needed to secure a health permit from the City of Boston and start operations. This program is run in partnership with Lawyers for Civil Rights.

We strongly encourage all businesses joining our shared kitchen to participate. Program costs are highly subsidized. 


Business in their first year of operation working out of our shared kitchen are eligible and highly encouraged to participate.

Content includes

  • Product & Production: ingredient sourcing and formula development, cost of goods, labeling, record keeping, and traceability
  • Business Administration: business plan, entity formation, market analysis
  • Sales & Marketing: social media, how to pitch your business, sell sheet development, photography
  • Financial Management: tracking finances, start-up budget, invoicing, pricing


  • Hands-on support from experienced kitchen staff to develop your product 
  • Professional portrait and food/product photography
  • One on one consultations with a design firm to develop your sell sheet
  • In-depth support and learning on business planning, branding, production, and financials


Classes will take place (virtually) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1pm and will run from May 4-August 12, 2021.


$150 due at start of program
